Matt was invited back for the live semi-finals to attempt a similar trick, which he did last night. This time around, he had to escape from a metal vest, some chains and a tank of water that his head was padlocked into. Very dramatic.

Once again, the panel of judges were anxious that Matt was going to end up drowning himself by accident. Amanda Holden remarked that she had to hold her breath for the entire time that Johnson’s head was submerged.
Before Johnson began his stunt, he remarked that he would be in great trouble if he was under water for more than a minute and 45 seconds. He ended up remaining under water for 2 minutes and 20 seconds, but he pulled it off in the end.
However, viewers weren’t too happy about watching Matt try this out for a second time.

In spite of the negative reception from viewers at home, Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon couldn’t help but laugh at the end of Matt’s performance, and told the audience she thought it was “funny”. David Walliams immediately asked her what kind of “sick sense of humour” she had and told her “You need help!”
